Child who said 'I will shoot up the school' detained in Niksar
In the Niksar district of Tokat, a student was detained after sending a message to their friends saying, "Don't come to school, I will shoot it up."
According to the information obtained, it was learned that on April 20, 2026, at approximately 15:30, a 7th-grade student named Y.K. at Kaya İsmet Özden Secondary School threatened their classmates by saying, "Don't come to school, I will shoot up the school."
Upon receiving the report, teams took action and launched an investigation into the incident.
As a result of the investigations, the 14-year-old child, whose residence was identified, was apprehended and taken into custody by the Niksar District Police Department teams.
The suspect was referred to the Niksar Courthouse following the procedures at the police station.
It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
