CHP asks the question everyone is wondering after the 'Narin Güran' trial: 'By whom was she murdered'
The Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court has delivered its verdict regarding the 4 defendants on trial for the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır. CHP figures issued consecutive statements following the ruling.
The court sentenced Narin's mother Yüksel Güran, her uncle Salim Güran, and her brother Enes Güran to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity," and sentenced their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar to 4 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of "destroying evidence of a crime."
Following the verdict, statements came from CHP figures.
MURAT EMİR RECALLED ENSARİOĞLU
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir made a statement regarding the Narin trial, which has now reached a verdict.
Stating that the defendants were not telling the truth and recalling the words of AKP MP Galip Ensarioğlu, who had previously said regarding the matter, "There are things we know but cannot say," Emir used the following expressions in a post on his official X account:
"A verdict has been reached in the case of our daughter Narin, who was brutally murdered, but the defendants are still not saying what really happened. Just like AKP MP Galip Ensarioğlu, who said 'they are family friends of mine,' stated: 'There are things we know but cannot say.' Uncle Salim, mother Yüksel, and brother Enes Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment. We will continue to fight for Narin until the silent defendants and those who say 'we know but are keeping quiet' tell the truth."
"WHY, AND BY WHOM WAS SHE MURDERED"
CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut also made a statement regarding the Narin trial, which has reached a verdict.
Stating that it is still unknown by whom and why Narin Güran was killed, Bulut used the following expressions in his post on his official X account:
"In the trial regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin, whose body was found days later, her uncle Salim, her mother Yüksel, and her brother Enes Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, and Nevzat Bahtiyar was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison. A lot of unanswered questions remain behind... It is still unknown why and by whom Narin was murdered. Has justice truly been served? Did Narin's real killers receive the punishment they deserve? We know that no sentence given will bring Narin back, but it is possible to change this unjust order where the right to life of women and children is taken away."
"WE WILL FOLLOW UP"
CHP Deputy Chairman Gül Çiftci used the following expressions on her social media account:
"The verdict announced in the trial regarding the death of 8-year-old Narin Güran left behind not just the sentences given, but also questions that have not been clarified. The veil of mystery regarding why Narin was killed still remains. As long as the questions behind Narin's death do not find answers, and as long as the veil of mystery is not lifted, neither will consciences be at ease nor will justice have been fully served. We will follow this case until the Narin Güran murder is completely clarified. We must build a country together where all our children grow up in peace and happiness."
