Striking claim from CHP's Başarır regarding dismissed Ministry of National Education official: His child answered all questions correctly in 2022
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır has made a striking claim regarding the child of Özgür Türk, the dismissed General Manager of Information Processing at the Ministry of National Education.
Speaking in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), CHP's Başarır raised a highly controversial claim regarding the ongoing debate over the LGS exam questions.
Başarır stated, "The Minister denies this situation, but an investigation has been launched into 29 people, and the official in charge of IT has been dismissed. Moreover, in 2022, the child of that same IT official answered all the questions correctly."
The issue of LGS (High School Entrance System) exam booklets being shared in advance continues to remain on the agenda.
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin announced that an administrative investigation has been launched into 29 people regarding allegations that the LGS exam booklet was leaked before the exam, while a high-level bureaucrat at the Ministry was dismissed today. Özgür Türk, who held the position of General Manager of Information Processing at the Ministry, was dismissed.
Regarding the matter, AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan said in his speech following the cabinet meeting, "They left no lie untold. Here, too, it immediately turned into hostility toward Imam Hatip schools. They have taken the matter this far."
The issue of suspicion was brought to the agenda once again in the TBMM.
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır made a claim that will be widely discussed.
"THE CHILD OF THE DISMISSED OFFICIAL ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS CORRECTLY IN 2022"
Başarır said the following:
"President Erdoğan made a statement regarding the LGS exam after the cabinet meeting, and it wounded consciences once again. He says: 'For days, perceptions have been created that the LGS exam questions were stolen, and games are being played over the success of our children,' and immediately after, he says, 'Turkey is a country that is pointed to as an example in exam security.' I say with shame that in 2009, the police vocational school exam was canceled because the questions were solved in advance. In 2010, the KPSS exam was canceled in this country because the questions were leaked. Again, in 2011, the KPSS exams were stolen. Exactly thirteen years ago, there was a Police Academy report stating that ÖSYM exam questions would be stolen.
Now, it is a fact that the questions for the exam taken by 1 million students were stolen today. The Minister denies it; an investigation has been opened into 29 people, and the IT official has been dismissed. It is a pity that I am telling you for the first time that the child of that IT official also answered all the questions correctly in 2022. And it is said that we are creating a perception through Imam Hatip schools; it has nothing to do with that, but if there are 39 top scorers in one Imam Hatip high school and these booklets are not investigated, these are suspicious circumstances."
