Emre Mert Kılıç, the CHP Beykoz Youth Branch President, has been detained on charges of insulting Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, who left the CHP to join the AKP.
CHP Beykoz Youth Branch President Emre Mert Kılıç has been detained on charges of "insult" directed at Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, who joined the ranks of the AKP following her resignation from the CHP.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Kılıç following his social media posts targeting Gürzel. Subsequently, teams from the District Police Department's Security Bureau detained Kılıç.
SHE HAD RESIGNED FROM THE CHP AND JOINED THE AKP
Özlem Vural Gürzel, who was elected deputy mayor following the arrest of Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler on charges of "rigging a tender" and "forming an organization," had resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP shortly thereafter.
