CHP's Bulut on 'justice': 'This treatment of Ayşe Barım is a clear manifestation of a vengeful mindset'
Talent manager Ayşe Barım, who was released under house arrest only to be ordered back into custody by the Istanbul 27th High Criminal Court following a prosecutor's objection, fell ill at her home on October 2 and was rushed to the hospital. CHP Deputy Chairman and Adana MP Burhanettin Bulut issued a statement regarding Barım's health condition.
Making a statement regarding Ayşe Barım's condition, CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut said, "Doctors have reported that Ayşe Barım requires urgent open-heart surgery.
While her life is clearly in danger, the treatment she is being subjected to can only be explained by oppression rather than law, and by the law of the enemy rather than justice.
Remaining silent while a person's right to life is so clearly threatened wounds the common conscience of humanity. This treatment applied to Ayşe Barım has become a manifestation of a clear vengeful mindset," he said.
Bulut used the following expressions in his statement:
"The Palace administration has shattered the legal system and political traditions in Turkey. A dual legal system has been adopted. Almost a law of the enemy is being applied to the entire opposition. The best example of this is Ayşe Barım. A re-arrest warrant was issued one day after she was released. She is currently receiving treatment in the hospital under police guard. Doctors have reported that Ayşe Barım requires urgent open-heart surgery. While her life is clearly in danger, the treatment she is being subjected to can only be explained by oppression rather than law, and by the law of the enemy rather than justice. Remaining silent while a person's right to life is so clearly threatened is not just an injustice, but also wounds the common conscience of humanity.
"A MANIFESTATION OF A CLEAR VENGEFUL MINDSET"
In this dark picture where justice, mercy, and human values are being tested, what is happening is not just to one citizen, but to the rights of us all. This treatment applied to Ayşe Barım has gone beyond all human and conscientious boundaries and has now become a manifestation of a clear vengeful mindset, far beyond mere punishment. In a state of law, the right to health, and especially the right to life, should not even be open to debate. Justice is served not with vengeance, but with conscience, fairness, and respect for human dignity. What is being inflicted upon Ayşe Barım today reminds us all once again: When justice falls silent, oppression speaks."
