CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut, regarding the arrest of Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) President and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, said, "Those who have set up this conspiracy today with their political ambitions and those who have signed this shameful decision will be held accountable before an independent judiciary tomorrow and will be remembered with shame in our democratic history. The will of the people has been usurped through games played behind closed doors, and this coup against democracy is null and void in the conscience of the public."

İBB Mayor and CHP presidential candidate hopeful Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained as part of the "MEDYA AŞ" investigation. CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut reacted to the arrest decision with a statement he made via his X account.
