CHP Chair Özel says 'we will put you on trial', AKP responds with 'Yassıada' reference: 'He has declared it'

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik stated, "CHP Chair Özgür Özel has attempted to threaten our President and our party by saying 'we will put you on trial'.

Let no one doubt that we will provide the necessary response to these threats. With these words, Özgür Özel has declared that he wants to establish a new 'Yassıada gang' today. A new version of an 'organization for doing evil to the nation' has thus been released onto the market," he said.

Ömer Çelik noted the following in a post on his X account:

"CHP Chair Özgür Özel has attempted to threaten our President and our party by saying 'we will put you on trial'. Let no one doubt that we will provide the necessary response to these threats.

With these words, Özgür Özel has declared that he wants to establish a new 'Yassıada gang' today. A new version of an 'organization for doing evil to the nation' has thus been released onto the market.

Özgür Özel is saying, under the roof of the Grand National Assembly, that he will once again establish a 'CHP judicial order', as has been seen many times in our history. This is truly a very grave 'political confession' for a political party leadership and its chair.

It is a cautionary situation that this political cadre has no goal other than to keep circling back and trying to resurrect the 'darkest' affairs of our history.

We will not allow this 'dark' mentality to pass. We will fight against this dark mentality together with all our organizations and our nation."
