CHP Chairman Özel marched to Anıtkabir with party members and citizens
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel marched from the First Parliament to Anıtkabir with party members and citizens on the occasion of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
Before the march organized by the CHP, party members and citizens gathered in front of the First Parliament. Following the speech Özel delivered there, the crowd moved toward Anıtkabir accompanied by slogans.
Özgür Özel and those accompanying him carried a banner during the march featuring Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words, "Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation."
In the march, which was also attended by some CHP deputies, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, and Ayşe Ateş—the wife of the former Ülkü Ocakları Education and Culture Foundation President and Hacettepe University faculty member Sinan Ateş, who was murdered in the capital—along with her daughters, citizens carried Atatürk posters and Turkish flags.

Özel, who visited Anıtkabir with party members and citizens, walked along the Lion Road and laid red carnations at the mausoleum of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
After the visit, Özgür Özel chatted with citizens and took photos before departing from Anıtkabir.
