CHP Chairman Özgür Özel makes 'broken foot' statement following claims he was shot

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır had previously announced that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had broken his foot. Regarding the matter, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated, "I had a simple household accident. My health is perfectly fine."

It was alleged on social media that Özel had been shot in the foot.

Following these allegations, journalist Barış Yarkadaş reached out to CHP leader Özel.

'SHARED BY FETÖ-LINKED ACCOUNTS'

Özgür Özel stated, "FETÖ-linked accounts spread this. I have a minor fracture in my foot."

Yarkadaş's statement is as follows:

"I called Özgür Özel today and asked him what this was, as such a rumor is circulating.

Özgür Özel said, 'FETÖ-linked accounts shared this post first in the morning hours, and when I saw these posts, I saw that those who follow the lead of FETÖ members were also sharing them.

My X-ray taken at Güven Hospital is uploaded to e-Devlet via e-Health. Anyone who wishes can check it. The fracture in the toe is clear in the film held by the state; I can even send the film to anyone who wants it.'"
