CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to Süleyman Soylu: Can a person be this despicable, this base?

The first of the CHP's 'Defending the National Will' rallies was held in front of the Şişli Municipality, where a trustee was appointed.

In his speech there, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel held former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, who claimed 3 years ago that 550 people working at the IMM were terrorists, to account.

Addressing Süleyman Soylu, Özel said, "Three years ago, they said there were 550 terrorists in the IMM; lawsuits were filed, and they couldn't prove a single one. When asked about this, Soylu said, 'I said it for the sake of politics.' Can a person be so despicable as to call 550 people terrorists for the sake of politics, deprive them of their jobs and livelihoods, and then say, 'I had no information, I lied'? Can they be this base?"

"CAN A PERSON BE THIS DESPICABLE, THIS BASE?"

Addressing MHP and AKP voters in Anatolia, Özgür Özel said, "I am calling out to the honest people of Anatolia. They told you on television that there were 550 terrorists in the IMM. Lawsuits were filed based on this. Not one, but 550 terrorists were not found. 

When asked this question, Süleyman Soylu said, 'I said it politically. I was doing politics.' 

I ask my MHP-supporting sister in Yozgat, my MHP-supporting uncle in Trabzon, my AK Party-supporting uncle in Konya, and my aunt in Kayseri. 

Can a person be so despicable as to call 550 people terrorists for the sake of politics, deprive them of their jobs and livelihoods, and then say, 'I had no information, I lied'? Can they be this base? With what face will you ask for votes from this uncle and this aunt again? 

Politics is done honestly, politics is done bravely. Close your doors to those who do politics with lies, Uncle Memduh," he said.
