CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz shares documents on Zafer Airport's losses! 'This is called a handout'

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated that the guaranteed passenger targets at Zafer Airport, which was built under the Build-Operate-Transfer model, could not be met again, noting that this situation caused a public loss of 300 million TL in just an 11-month period.

Yavuzyılmaz shared striking data in a post on his social media account.

He used the following expressions in his statement:

"The AKP continues to break records for loss after loss at Zafer Airport, which was built with the Build-Operate-Transfer model. In the first 11 months of 2025, the guaranteed number of departing passengers was 1 million 207 thousand 921. The actual number of departing passengers was 34 thousand 153. The margin of error is 97.17 percent! The guaranteed payment the Treasury will make to the company is 6 million 68 thousand 482 Euros. At the current exchange rate, that is 300 million Lira! This is called a handout!"
