CHP's Bakan calls on Ali Yerlikaya regarding 'police investigations': 'We will do it after the election'
Murat Bakan, the CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of Interior, addressed Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya in a post on his social media account.
Murat Bakan highlighted the situation of police officers who have faced investigations due to their social media posts and stated that these processes, conducted without a prosecutor's instruction, are unlawful.
Addressing Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, CHP İzmir Deputy Murat Bakan announced that they would introduce a disciplinary amnesty and wrote the following lines:

"Social media has turned into a space where organized crime groups challenge the state and each other, and praise crime and criminals.
Instead of public prosecutors and Cybercrime units identifying these and conducting investigations, they have reached a point where directors and supervisors are monitoring their own personnel without a prosecutor's instruction.
Hundreds of police officers have been investigated in this manner. All of these investigations are unlawful.
I am calling out to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya from here: the investigation files of all police officers against whom you have unlawfully initiated investigations based on social media posts without a prosecutor's instruction must be closed immediately.
Any disciplinary penalties imposed must be revoked.
Furthermore, we will introduce a disciplinary amnesty for all offenses except for crimes involving moral turpitude and crimes committed against the state.
If you do not do this now, we will do it after the first election."
