CHP's Bulut claims 'Furkan Torlak has an office at the Ministry of Justice': He is trying to bring journalists into line

Bulut wrote that Furkan Torlak, the former coordinator of the Presidential Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation, has an office at the Ministry of Justice and has been calling journalists to tell them to make posts in favor of Minister Akın Gürlek.

While serving as the Coordinator of the Presidential Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation, Furkan Torlak's name was mentioned alongside journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy in a "narcotics" and "prostitution" investigation, after which he resigned. When Akın Gürlek was appointed Minister of Justice, it was alleged that Torlak would become Gürlek's press advisor, but this claim was later denied. 

CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut wrote in a statement on his social media account that while Furkan Torlak cannot officially be the Press Advisor to the Ministry of Justice, he does have an office at the ministry.

Stating that Torlak has been calling journalists and telling them to make posts in favor of Minister Gürlek, Bulut expressed the following: 

"The situation is critical... Furkan Torlak could not officially become the Press Advisor to the Ministry of Justice; however, he has an office at the ministry. Even though he has no authority, he is unofficially calling journalists on behalf of the Minister and attempting to openly bring them into line by saying, 'If you don't make posts showing that you stand with our Minister, you are not one of us.'

While the documents presented by our Chairman are clear, the attempt to cover up this scandal with staged questions and answers has completely lost its credibility. What needs to be done is clear:

The Minister must come out and disclose all information regarding his real estate assets completely, openly, and transparently to the public. Stop issuing veiled threats to journalists. Let everyone do their job, and the truth will come out. No one is your propaganda officer!"

He had resigned after his name was mentioned in a "narcotics" and "prostitution" investigation

Furkan Torlak, the Coordinator of the Presidential Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation, whose name was mentioned in whistleblower testimonies in a "narcotics" and "prostitution" investigation, resigned on December 13. Torlak had stated, "I want to emphasize that I have not engaged in any unlawful act. I have resigned from my post so that the institution is not tarnished."
