CHP Deputy Chairman Bağcıoğlu reacts to Naval Forces Command over martyr photo: Do not be disrespectful
An album titled "Turkish Naval Forces in the Cyprus Peace Operation" was prepared to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu expressed his reaction, stating that the photo of the martyr included in the album is incorrect.
Pointing out that the photo of martyr Necati Gürkaya in the album prepared to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation is incorrect, CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu expressed his reaction.
CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu stated that the photo of martyr Necati Gürkaya, one of the TCG Kocatepe martyrs, is incorrect in the album prepared by the Ministry of National Defense to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
Making a statement via his X account, Bağcıoğlu noted the following:
"Naval Forces Command! Correct the photo in the album displayed at the entrance of the military guesthouses; do not be disrespectful to the martyr and his family.
Naval Forces Command! Check the album prepared to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
In the information regarding the TCG Kocatepe martyrs, the photo of our martyr Necati Gürkaya on page 168 is incorrect.
Not being able to even correctly display the photo of our 54 very precious TCG Kocatepe martyrs is a shame for the Naval Forces Command first, and then for all of us."
