CHP's Murat Bakan asks about the reasons behind a police officer's suicide: Here are the questions he directed to Minister Çiftçi

CHP's Bakan shared the story of the late police officer Mehmet Erbil on his social media account. Claiming that the officer was subjected to constant mobbing following the traffic ticket he issued, Bakan directed questions to Interior Minister Çiftçi regarding the underlying causes of this suicide.

In his parliamentary motion, the CHP deputy listed the allegations regarding the police officer's suicide: 

"According to the allegations; police officer Mehmet Erbil issued a traffic ticket in accordance with the law to a person 'driving without a license' while on duty. The person who received the ticket 'warned' our police officer Mehmet Erbil not to issue the ticket by saying, 'I am a relative of the Başakşehir District Governor'; however, our police officer carried out the legal procedure. It is alleged that the Başakşehir District Governor called the District Police Chief, told him that the person who was fined had been ticketed 'despite stating who they were,' and that police officer Mehmet Erbil was subjected to mobbing thereafter. It is claimed that statements such as 'We will not work with you, we do not want you' were made to our police officer Mehmet Erbil at the directorate where he was stationed. It is alleged that the Police Chief assigned a chief inspector, and that this chief inspector approached Erbil while he was sitting at a cafe with friends on a day he was off duty, warned him, performed identity checks (GBT) on his friends, and told him that he would be reassigned."

The CHP deputy brought the issue to the Parliament's agenda and submitted a written parliamentary question for Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi to answer.

Questions the CHP deputy wants Minister Çiftçi to answer:

Did the Başakşehir District Governor call the District Police Chief regarding a traffic ticket issued in accordance with the law to a person "driving without a license"? Did the District Governor complain about the police officer to his superior by stating that the person who was fined had been ticketed "despite stating who they were"? Will these allegations be investigated?

Did the District Police Chief, who was called by the District Governor, subject the police officer who was doing his job to mobbing? Is it true that statements such as "We will not work with you, we do not want you" were made to police officer Mehmet Erbil at the directorate where he was stationed?

Are the allegations true that on a day when Mehmet Erbil was off duty, a chief inspector came to the cafe where he was sitting with his friends, warned Erbil, performed identity checks (GBT) on the friends he was sitting with, and told him that he would be reassigned?

Will the HTS (call/message) records of the phone conversations between the Başakşehir District Governor, the Başakşehir District Police Chief, and the relevant Traffic Inspection Bureau Chief, who are at the center of the allegations, be examined retrospectively from the date and time the traffic ticket was issued until the moment police officer Mehmet Erbil attempted suicide?

Is there any official record of the legal justification, order, or report upon which the chief inspector, who allegedly went to the cafe where police officer Mehmet Erbil was sitting with his friends on his day off to perform an identity check, based this action? Have the security camera footage of the cafe in question and the records of the identity check performed through the system at that time been secured?

Have judicial and administrative investigations been initiated regarding the Başakşehir District Governor, the District Police Chief, and the aforementioned chief inspector in order to investigate this entire chain of events and allegations that allegedly drove police officer Mehmet Erbil to suicide and to reveal the truth? Have the Ministry's relevant inspection boards been mobilized regarding the matter?

What is the reason for the reassignment of police officer Mehmet Erbil from the Istanbul Başakşehir District Police Department Traffic Inspection Bureau to the Bağcılar District Police Department Protection Bureau?
