CHP's Tanrıkulu reacts to access ban on 'Istanbul Indictment' account

Tanrıkulu stated that the 4,000-page indictment should be shared with the public, criticizing the successive access bans imposed on websites and social media accounts created for this purpose. Tanrıkulu said the following:

"We called the operations that began on March 19 a political coup. A coup is not only carried out against political governments; it is also carried out against political parties that are candidates to change the government. Indeed, the CHP is the only power that will change this government. Operations were carried out against it, against its institutional identity, against its political actors, against Ekrem İmamoğlu, and against our mayors. After an 8-month period, the indictment was published.

Thousands of pages, 4,000 pages. There are hundreds of suspects, more than 400. And we have more than 100 friends and colleagues in custody. It is said that there are 75 confessing defendants. There are also 15 secret witnesses. In other words, there are as many attachments as we don't even know the page count of. What will happen? Of course, these will be read by us, by journalists, by lawyers, by everyone; they will be shared, and we will see what is true and what is false.

There is a web page opened precisely for the purpose of sharing these. Istanbuliddianamesi.com. An access ban was imposed today. A new one was opened. Istanbuliddianamesi.net. There are web pages linked to this. There are social media accounts linked to this. But more importantly, from the moment Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested, all of his personal social media accounts were hit with access bans, and apart from that, Presidential Office social media accounts were opened, and they banned those too. A new one was opened, and they banned that one too.

So, currently, there are access bans via court orders against all these accounts. Well, I will ask: if you trust your indictment so much, why are you imposing access bans on these accounts that only provide information about the indictment and state what is true and what is false? Why? For what reason? Look, we will share these, we will talk about them. All of these show that the evidence forming the basis of the indictment is unlawful. If you trust it, do not impose access bans.

I will go even further. If you trust it, eventually, if the indictment is accepted, a hearing date will be set, and hearings will be held that will last for days. Look, let TRT open a channel there and broadcast it all. Let them come, let these confessors, secret witnesses, and prosecutors put forward their claims. In response, let Ekrem İmamoğlu, our friends, and those on trial make their own defenses, and let the public decide what is true and what is false. Look, a law can be passed in one day. If you trust yourselves, if you trust your indictment, if you trust the powers behind it, let's do this. Do not impose these access bans and let us publish it. Believe me, no one can escape the truth, no one. We say 'Bring it on!' to you from here, bring it on."
