CHP's Uzun conveys İmamoğlu's message: I am addressing the mindset that sees itself as the owner of everything

A message has arrived from CHP's presidential candidate İmamoğlu, who was arrested as part of a "corruption" investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and removed from his mayoral duties.

In the message shared on the X account of CHP İzmir Deputy Uzun, İmamoğlu included the following statements:

"I am addressing the mindset that sees itself as the owner of everything. Do not be stubborn with the nation. For 105 years, the star-and-crescent Turkish flag has been waving in these lands with the principle that 'Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation'! Do not forget... The nation is greater!"

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ekrem İmamoğlu, the President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) and CHP's presidential primary candidate, who is also the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), was detained on March 19 as part of 'terrorism' and 'corruption' investigations into the İBB and was arrested on March 23.

İmamoğlu was arrested and taken to Silivri Prison as part of the investigation into the İBB on charges of "corruption," specifically for "rigging tenders, recording personal data, bribery, and establishing an organization."

Following his arrest, he was removed from his position as Mayor of the İBB by a decision of the Ministry of Interior.
