CHP's Yavuzyılmaz: The cost of the AKP's dark oil trade to Turkey is 3 billion dollars
CHP Deputy Chairman and Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has put forward a new claim. Yavuzyılmaz stated, "The resumption of oil flow does not erase the bill for the AKP's dark oil trade through this pipeline over the last 10 years. The cost of the AKP's dark oil trade to Turkey is 3 billion dollars!"
Yavuzyılmaz, who previously stated that Turkey was penalized by the International Court of Arbitration for transporting oil without the permission of the Iraqi Central Government and who said, "I am sharing documents that will lead to President Erdoğan being tried in the Supreme Council!", cited the Final Award of the International Court of Arbitration, the Kurdistan Regional Government's official Deloitte oil reports, and BOTAŞ Court of Accounts reports as the sources for his new claim.
The crude oil pipeline between Iraq and Turkey is reopening. CHP Deputy Chairman and Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz recalled allegations that the crude oil pipeline was used by the AKP government in violation of international agreements without the approval of the Iraqi central government.
Yavuzyılmaz made a new claim and used the following expressions:
"The cost of the AKP's dark oil trade to Turkey
The loss is 3 billion dollars!
Within a few days, the Iraq-Turkey crude oil pipeline is reopening in accordance with international agreements.
The Iraqi Central Government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and oil companies have reached an agreement.
The AKP government must also comply with this agreement in line with Turkey's interests and within the framework of international law.
However!
The resumption of oil flow does not erase the bill for the AKP's dark oil trade through this pipeline over the last 10 years.
Because for years, the AKP transported oil through the Iraq-Turkey crude oil pipeline in violation of international agreements without the approval of the Iraqi Central Government.
Oil transport fees were transferred to another company on the island of Jersey, which is affiliated with a company under BOTAŞ, and to the accounts of the Turkish Energy Company, which contained elements of confidentiality.
Result
The penalty imposed on Turkey by the International Court of Arbitration for unauthorized oil transport through the pipeline between May 21, 2014, and September 30, 2018:
A net 1 billion 471 million dollars!
A second arbitration case regarding irregularities in the pipeline between October 1, 2018, and March 25, 2023, is ongoing.
In addition to these, we have determined that over 1 billion dollars has evaporated on the island of Jersey.
The total loss is approximately 3 billion dollars!
At the current exchange rate, 125 billion Lira!
As soon as we come to power
We will collect these amounts, which were evaporated and ruled as penalties, from the assets of the President and the relevant AKP officials!
