CHP Didim district organization management resigns
CHP Didim District Chair Ahmet Yılmaz announced that the district management has resigned from their posts, arguing that the district mayoral candidate nominated by the headquarters did not act in coordination with the district organization.
CHP Didim District Chair Ahmet Yılmaz and board members held a press conference at the district headquarters. During the press conference, Yılmaz argued that despite their demands for a primary election during the candidate selection process, they did not receive any results and that the promises made regarding this matter were not kept.
Stating that Hatice Gençay was nominated as the mayoral candidate by the CHP Headquarters, Yılmaz said the following:
"After the appointment of the mayoral candidate, in the meeting we held with her in our district, she stated that she would act in coordination with the organization, that the power of the organization was important, and that the election process would be carried out by collaborating on many issues. However, in a short time, we observed that her words and actions were different and contradictory. During the determination of the municipal council member candidates, we saw that neither our organization nor the non-governmental organizations in our district were taken into account in any way. We have evaluated this behavior, the disregard for our organization, and the fact that it does not align with the traditions and principles of the CHP, and we have decided to resign, as our remaining in office during this process would have no meaning."
