CHP dismisses 7 district chairs and their boards in Istanbul: 'There is no room for compromise'
Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Chair Gürsel Tekin announced that 7 district chairs and their boards in Istanbul have been dismissed.
CHP İstanbul Provincial Chair Gürsel Tekin announced that 7 of the party's district boards in Istanbul have been dismissed. In a statement on his social media account, Tekin said, "The Republican People's Party is a deep-rooted Republican institution built upon its bylaws, program, organizational discipline, and political ethics.
No duty and no position is above these rules.
It is absolutely unacceptable for individuals holding the title of district chair in our Istanbul organization to be involved in preparations for another political formation while continuing their duties, to mediate for such, or to be part of activities incompatible with their party identity.
Everyone representing the Republican People's Party must first and foremost remain committed to the bylaws, organizational discipline, and political ethics of this party. It is unthinkable for those who act contrary to these principles to continue their duties".
Stating that for this reason, the relevant district chairs and their boards have been removed from their positions and that the district chairs have been referred to the disciplinary process with precautionary measures, Tekin said, "The Republican People's Party is not a tool for anyone's personal political agenda.
Our party's corporate identity, discipline, and traditions are above any personal discretion.
There is not the slightest room for compromise on this matter".
According to the statement, the district chairs and boards that were dismissed are as follows:
"CHP Başakşehir District Chair and board
CHP Büyükçekmece District Chair and board
CHP Beylikdüzü District Chair and board
CHP Kadıköy District Chair and board
CHP Pendik District Chair and board
CHP Silivri District Chair and board
CHP Esenyurt District Chair and board."
