CHP files 'full illegality' objection to Hatay election results

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Lütfü Savaş have taken the local election results to the YSK. CHP files 'full illegality' objection to Hatay election results

It has been reported that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate Lütfü Savaş have filed an objection with the Supreme Election Council (YSK) regarding the election results for the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, citing "full illegality." It was stated that AKP candidate Mehmet Öntürk finished the election in the lead with 44.48 percent of the vote, while CHP's Lütfü Savaş received 44.05 percent.

It was noted that Özgür Özel and his accompanying delegation submitted the petition to the YSK and that CHP Deputy Chairman Gül Çiftçi raised the claim that 3,389 "deceased voters" cast ballots in the election. It was recorded that the election results were decided by a margin of 3,361 votes.
