CHP's Gökçen responds to Yılmaz Tunç's 'threat to the judiciary' claim: 'Tell that to the mobile guillotine'
CHP Deputy Chair Gökçe Gökçen gave a sharp response to Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç's statement on social media regarding the Esenyurt Municipality. Gökçen said, "Don't tell those things to our Chairman, go tell that to the mobile guillotine!"
Gökçe Gökçen, Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chair responsible for the Ministry of Justice and Member of Parliament for İzmir, responded to the statement made by Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç on social media regarding the Esenyurt Municipality.
Tunç had stated, "The Republic of Turkey is a state of law. It is neither anyone's right nor place to threaten the judiciary."
'GO TELL THAT TO THE MOBILE GUILLOTINE'
Gökçen's statement is as follows: "Don't tell those things to our Chairman, go tell that to the mobile guillotine! It is always the same person who hands out incredible sentences to Canan Kaftancıoğlu, Sözcü journalists, and Selahattin Demirtaş, and who fails to implement the Constitutional Court's ruling regarding Enis Berberoğlu. Today, they have a special mission to usurp the will of the people in Istanbul.
'A TASK YOU WILL BE CRUSHED UNDER'
We remember Zekeriya Öz, whom you praised until yesterday, and we also remember how you questioned those who played snowballs with him.
In those snowball days, you were also telling stories about an 'independent judiciary'.
Appointing a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality is a task you will be crushed under, just like the cancellation of the Istanbul elections on May 6, just like the 'fool' case.
Esenyurt and Istanbul will protect their will."
