The CHP issued the following statement on its social media account regarding footage circulating on social media that claimed CHP Chairman Özgür Özel traveled to Edirne Prison with a multi-vehicle convoy:
"The convoy footage presented in a distorted manner on social media does not reflect the truth. While our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, was traveling to Edirne Closed Prison, his official vehicle was accompanied by his own security vehicle and a lead security vehicle as part of routine procedure, as well as 1 security vehicle and 1 traffic vehicle allocated by the Edirne Police Department. The other vehicles in the convoy belonged to our regional deputies, mayors, and security personnel who came to welcome our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel. Respectfully announced to the public."
