CHP İzmir MP Murat Bakan resigns: This is not an end
Following Özgür Özel's announcement regarding a new party, İzmir MP Murat Bakan announced his resignation from the party.
The first news of a resignation from the party has arrived following Özel's announcement of a new party during the group meeting. CHP İzmir MP Murat Bakan announced that he has resigned from the party.
Making a statement on his social media account, Bakan said, "It is very difficult for my family. It is very difficult for me. But this is not an end."
Murat Bakan included the following statements in his post:
"I have resigned from the Republican People's Party.
I became a neighborhood delegate, a provincial delegate, a party congress delegate, and a council member.
I am an MP who emerged from the primary elections in the Republican People's Party.
I became a Deputy Chairman, a member of the Party Assembly, and the Shadow Minister of Interior.
My mother is a member, my father is a member, my wife is a member, my son is a member; my mother-in-law and father-in-law are members... There is no one in my family who is not a member of the Republican People's Party.
It is very difficult for my family. It is very difficult for me.
But this is not an end.
By keeping the principles and values of the Republican People's Party alive, and by walking in the footsteps of the revolutions of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk...
We are leaving the party to those who occupy it only in name and with its buildings, and we are marching toward power in our new party under the leadership of Özgür Özel."
