CHP launches social media campaign against indictment

The 3,742-page indictment in the investigation launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) was completed today.

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been held in prison for 237 days without an indictment being prepared, faces up to 2,352 years in prison on charges including "establishing a criminal organization for profit," "leaking data," and "causing public loss."

Contradictory allegations have been made so far against Ekrem İmamoğlu and the individuals detained alongside him. These allegations were also included in the prepared indictment.

A new move has come from the CHP against the IMM indictment submitted to the court. Websites and social media accounts were opened under the name "Istanbul Indictment." Responses to the accusations were provided in the published videos.

Following the indictment, a website opened under the name "Istanbul Indictment" addressed the claims contained in the file. The site featured headings such as "Was money carried in suitcases?", "Phones were distributed at the convention", "A fine issued in Şişli was called a bribe", "Is the target İmamoğlu or the CHP?", and "The facts in 1 minute".

Posts regarding the site were made from Facebook, X, Instagram, Bluesky, and TikTok accounts opened with the hashtag "Listen to the facts, not the allegations" on social media.
