Documented statement from CHP member: Murat Kurum approved the heap leach in the disaster area
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated, "We have determined that the heap leach approval documents for the 4th phase of the heap leach site at the gold mine operated by the Anagold company in Erzincan's İliç district—the site where the disaster occurred and which flowed as mud—were issued with the signature of the then-Minister of Environment, Murat Kurum."
Yavuzyılmaz shared a document proving that Murat Kurum gave the approval for the heap leach in the region where the disaster occurred.
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz announced on his social media account that the heap leach approval documents for the mine in Erzincan's İliç district were issued during the term of former Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum.
Continuing to share information regarding the site where the disaster took place, Yavuzyılmaz's statement is as follows:
