In Istanbul, allegations that a criminal organization known as the 'newborn gang' collaborated with 112 Emergency Call Center employees to cause infant deaths have caused a major stir. While 22 people have been arrested, an indictment has been prepared against 47 suspects, including CHP Beylikdüzü Municipal Council member Ahmet Atilla Yılmaz. Although Yılmaz argues that he bears no responsibility as the chief physician of Medilife Beylikdüzü Hospital, it is alleged that the gang caused the deaths of infants by referring them to private hospitals.
It has been revealed that a gang in Istanbul acted in collusion with individuals working at the 112 Emergency Call Center to refer infant emergency patients to the neonatal units of private hospitals they had pre-arranged with, leading to their deaths. While 22 people from the gang have been arrested, an indictment has been prepared against 47 suspects.
CHP COUNCIL MEMBER ALSO AMONG THE SUSPECTS
The police report prepared also included Medilife Beylikdüzü Hospital and the hospital's chief physician, Ahmet Atilla Yılmaz. In addition to being a CHP Beylikdüzü Municipal Council member, Yılmaz serves on the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Health and Epidemic Diseases Commission.
DENIED THE ACCUSATIONS
Yılmaz's statement was also included in the report. In his statement, he claimed that neither Medilife Hospital nor he himself had any responsibility, stating that he works as a Chief Physician and General Surgeon at Beylikdüzü Medilife Hospital, and serves as a Beylikdüzü and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council member and Chairman of the İBB Council Health Commission.
Yılmaz stated that he knew Ceren Hatice Kırım, who is mentioned in the same investigation, because she was a nurse at Beylikdüzü Medilife Hospital, and that he knew the individual named Şeyhmus Çelik because they worked together at Esenyurt State Hospital.
