CHP's Uzgel reacts to Feyzioğlu appointment: 'The government backed him'
CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Foreign Policy, Prof. Dr. İlhan Uzgel, made statements regarding the appointment of Nicosia Ambassador Metin Feyzioğlu as the Ambassador to Prague.
CHP's İlhan Uzgel reacted to Metin Feyzioğlu's appointment as Ambassador to Prague on the program "Kübra Par'la Farklı Açılar" broadcast on tv100.
Uzgel stated, "The government backed Metin Feyzioğlu by appointing him to Prague because he did not welcome Özgür Özel."
"THE GOVERNMENT BACKED HIM"
Highlights from İlhan Uzgel's statements are as follows:
"Metin Feyzioğlu might have had a concern, let me be frank. 'If I meet with them, will they say something to me?' There is nothing else to it than coming over to say 'hello, how are you?'. I don't want to call it a reward or a punishment. If we say he was 'rewarded', we would be belittling the position in Cyprus. It would be as if he moved from a bad place to a good one. The government backed Metin Feyzioğlu by appointing him to Prague because he did not welcome Özgür Özel.
"SHAMEFUL"
When we go to a country, we correspond in advance. We make our first visit to the embassy. We are Turkey's main opposition party, we are not enemies. Not being welcomed by Feyzioğlu is shameful. Not showing interest is shameful."
