CHP MP Dr. Yaman criticizes Ministry of Health over 'Family Physician' policies: Profiling and pressure

Criticizing the Ministry of Health's policies regarding Family Physicians, Yaman used striking expressions.

CHP's Yaman made the following statements:

"It punishes Family Physicians for patients who do not come to primary care, cutting their earnings. By reducing the populations assigned to family physicians, it lowers their wages based on the number of registered individuals.

By directing patients who cannot find appointments to Family Health Centers, it creates the perception that family physicians can secure any type of appointment.

In cases where the family physician cannot secure an appointment, it damages the physician-patient relationship and fuels an environment of violence.

Through official letters sent, it effectively profiles physicians whose Medical Procedure Score is below 10,000, applying pressure. It demands that operating rooms and endoscopy units operate with long shifts until 22:00 on weekdays and between 08:00-17:00 on weekends.

An exhausting healthcare system never produces solutions; a penalty-based performance system only disrupts workplace peace; excessive work only endangers patient and employee safety, and escalates violence in healthcare.

The Ministry of Health's practices aimed at saving the day are further clogging the healthcare system and exhausting the already scarce number of healthcare workers."
