CHP's Mahmut Tanal exposes Tarım Kredi with documents: 'They have established a trade chain'

Tanal stated, based on the documents he shared, that goods were purchased from a business named Sidre Deviren in Jindires, Syria, and that the same business later sold them to a company called Emiryağ İthalat-İhracat Ltd. 

CHP's Tanal said, "This is not 'intermediation'; it is crony trade conducted under the supervision of the government. In short, Tarım Kredi has established a trade chain that acts as an intermediary not for the producer, but for politically connected importers."

STATEMENT FROM TARIM KREDİ REGARDING TANAL'S ALLEGATIONS

The Agricultural Credit Cooperatives responded to the import allegations from the opposition via their social media account. In the statement, it was claimed that they only acted as intermediaries and did not purchase products directly, stating, "The price of the garlic product mentioned on social media was close to domestic producer prices on the specified date. Compared to products produced in our country, its shelf life is short and its quality is low. Furthermore, the volume of the trade conducted is quite low and not of a size that would disrupt domestic market balances." Mahmut Tanal responded to the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives' statement by sharing documents on his social media account regarding the issue. Citing examples of products such as garlic, olive oil, and tea, Tanal alleged that the Cooperatives purchased products from "cronies."

The social media post by the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives is as follows:

"It has been deemed necessary for our Institution to provide information in response to the statements made by a deputy of the main opposition party targeting Tarım Kredi.

Koop Market, a subsidiary of the Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, does not import or sell any products. Our Institution, which is only tasked with acting as an intermediary in trade in Syria, does not make direct product purchases. In this context, individuals and firms that meet the determined criteria and have obtained the necessary permits from the relevant institutions can purchase agricultural products in the region.

The price of the garlic product mentioned on social media was close to domestic producer prices on the specified date. Compared to products produced in our country, its shelf life is short and its quality is low. Furthermore, the volume of the trade conducted is quite low and not of a size that would disrupt domestic market balances.

Our institution always regulates the market by purchasing agricultural products in the domestic market at the most favorable prices in favor of the producer. Even when our sales volume and ideal stock levels are exceeded in some periods, we continue to support our producers by purchasing products (potatoes, tomatoes for paste, almonds, sunflower seeds, tea, etc.)."

Tarım Kredi said, 'We do not import.'

But the documents show that Tarım Kredi Tedarik ve Üretim A.Ş. — which is directly affiliated with the Central Union of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and therefore with the Ministry of Agriculture — has purchased tons of garlic from a person named Sidre Deviren in Jindires, Syria.

The purchase price is 50 TL/kg.

They sold the same product in Turkey to Sidre Deviren's own company, Emiryağ İthalat-İhracat Ltd., for 55 TL/kg.

This is not just a single transaction; it is a regular trade chain amounting to millions of liras.

Every transaction was paid in cash, and the PTT account (No: 1…..94) is clearly written on the documents.

This is

not "intermediation";

Tarım Kredi Tedarik ve Üretim A.Ş., one of the subsidiaries of Tarım Kredi, is also buying olive oil from Sidre Deviren's warehouse in Jindires.

The product purchased from Syria is 41 TL/kg,

the same product is sold in Turkey again to Sidre Deviren's company (Emiryağ Ltd.) for 44 TL/kg.

These purchase and sale transactions were not done once, but in a series.

Each was carried out with cash payment, through the same PTT accounts.

In short, Tarım Kredi has established a trade chain that acts as an intermediary not for the producer, but for politically connected importers.

ARE THERE NO PRODUCERS LEFT IN THE BLACK SEA?

Although Tarım Kredi's warehouses are full until 2028,

the institution's subsidiary, Tarım Kredi Tedarik ve Üretim A.Ş.,

So from whom?

From AKP Rize Provincial Chair Yılmaz Katmer's firm, Pekmezli Çay Sanayi!

Invoice amount: 24 million 700 thousand TL.

The product is low quality, there is no analysis report.

And the payments are all in cash.

But this is not just one invoice.

This is just one example of a commercial relationship that has been going on for years and amounts to millions of liras.

When the records are examined, it will emerge that similar invoices have been issued repeatedly under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture.

While thousands of tea producers in the mountains and hills of the Black Sea make a living with their sweat,

Tarım Kredi steps in and buys tea from the company of the same party provincial chair every time.

Let's assume for a moment that the Provincial Chair is also a producer...

But among tens of thousands of producers in the Black Sea, is there no one else?

Why is it always the same name?

Why is it always a firm belonging to an AKP official?

Why are people with political identities preferred instead of producers?

The duty of Tarım Kredi is

to provide products to citizens at affordable prices, to support the producer, and to balance the market.

But today, the institution has turned into a trade network that enriches party officials.

This is not just an economic, but a moral collapse.

A state institution has become the commercial arm of politics.

The name of this business is not a cooperative, it is a crony order.

This order harms the producer, the consumer, and the public conscience alike."
