CHP's Tanrıkulu falls ill after speech: 'Have some conscience, damn it'

Tanrıkulu brought the allegations that young people detained in Istanbul's Saraçhane were 'subjected to torture' to the parliamentary agenda. Following this speech, Tanrıkulu went to the parliamentary infirmary due to a spike in his blood pressure.

Tanrıkulu used the following expressions in his speech:

"I want to state that I will have a very difficult time making this speech and reading some of the words I will read in a moment, but I will do it so that it is recorded here. I went to the Çağlayan Courthouse for 3 days and saw the young people brought in from detention. I had personal contact with them, I met with the lawyers. I have my own observations and my own feelings. Let me say this; when I saw that scene, I turned my back, walked away to a wall, and cried. As a Member of Parliament. As a human rights defender, I cried. But none of it matters to you. You truly do not care what people are experiencing.

"AKP WOMEN MPS, I AM READING THIS TO YOU"

Many lawyer friends with me cried there. They cried at what they saw. But the Minister of Interior or the Minister of Justice comes out and says, 'There is no torture in Turkey. Those who say this are traitors, they are traitors to the country.' I am reading to you, look, I am reading. I will read this. I was the first to share it. A girl, a young woman who was pulled by her hair. AK Party women MPs, I am reading this to you. AK Party women MPs.

'I was pulled by my hair. I was dragged on the ground. While being taken to be handcuffed -I won't beat you, okay- they said and took me to the back of the ambulance. A male police officer with a beard, mustache, colored eyes, and a tall stature of 1.85, 1.95, 1.90 meters, saying 'Do you have breasts?' touched my breasts. I lost control of my bladder at that moment.'

"IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO DID THIS, WE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"
