Parliamentary question from CHP's Tanrıkulu for Esila: Prison authorities have not provided her medication for 6 days

Ayık, a chronic heart and kidney patient who was arrested on April 8 due to a sign she carried at the Kadıköy Solidarity Stage reading "Dictator Erdoğan," was transferred to the hospital this morning and examined in the cardiology department.

It was determined that the problem with Ayık's heart valve, which was previously at a "mild" level, has progressed to a "moderate" level.

CHP's Tanrıkulu brought Ayık's situation to the parliamentary agenda with a written question. Tanrıkulu directed the following questions to Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç for his response:

"What is the justification for referring Esila Ayık, who was taken into custody on April 8, 2025, to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace for trial while in detention without her statement being taken by the Prosecutor's Office?

Is the claim that the defense arguments of Esila Ayık's lawyers were not taken into account true?

Are the allegations that Esila Ayık, who suffers from chronic kidney and heart disease, was not provided with her medication by the prison administration for six days true?

If the aforementioned allegations are true, will an investigation and inquiry be initiated against the prison authorities who did not provide medication to Esila Ayık, who has a chronic condition, for six days?

Are the allegations true that Esila Ayık, who fell ill and was taken to the infirmary, was not transferred to a hospital, but was only transferred after the issue was brought to the public's attention?

Are the allegations true that no tests were performed on Esila Ayık after she was transferred to the hospital?

Considering that the objections of Esila Ayık's lawyers to her detention have not yet been included in the file and taking into account the human rights violations experienced during the process before her arrest, will your ministry take any action regarding the release of Esila Ayık, who has chronic illnesses?"
