CHP MP Uzun calls for 'elections in November': Will İmamoğlu face a political ban?
CHP Muğla MP Cumhur Uzun was a guest on the program '12'den' with Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu and made notable remarks regarding the current agenda.
Uzun stated that TÜSİAD's criticisms regarding the economy and current politics are an assessment of the situation, noting that the problems experienced in the country have been identified.
Drawing attention to the investigations and lawsuits recently initiated against politicians, journalists, and artists in particular, Uzun said, 'Society is being silenced through the judiciary. We are in days when we need the rule of law the most.'
Touching upon the cases against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Cumhur Uzun said, 'The contents of Ekrem İmamoğlu's case files are not such that they would lead to a criminal sanction.'
Emphasizing that the government wants to slow down the speed of its 'melting like snow in the sun,' Uzun pointed out that the CHP will determine its presidential candidate through a democratic process.
Uzun stated, 'If possible, we want an election tomorrow, or at the latest in November.'
