CHP Municipal Council Member detained for 'insulting the President': Investigation being conducted meticulously
K.D., a CHP Municipal Council Member in the Karabağlar district of İzmir, has been detained on charges of 'insulting the President' and 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them.'
In a statement issued by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated: "An investigation was immediately launched by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding video content shared on a social media platform (Instagram) by Karabağlar Municipal Council Member K.D.; due to the statements contained in the content in question, the suspect has been detained on charges of 'insulting the President', 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them', 'threatening', and 'insulting a public official'. The judicial process is being conducted meticulously."
