CHP's Murat Bakan calls on Interior Minister Yerlikaya: 'If you have the guts, speak for yourself'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a striking allegation during his party's rally in Zonguldak. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel claimed that Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya was conducting operations against his own deputy ministers and attempting to leak information to the opposition.

Following this allegation by Özel, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya responded with very harsh language, reacting by saying, "Lies have made a nest in your mouth."

Following these mutual statements, Murat Bakan, the CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of Interior, criticized Minister Yerlikaya on his social media account, stating that he had given inappropriate responses to the accusations directed at him.

In his statement targeting Ali Yerlikaya, Murat Bakan included the following remarks:

Ali Yerlikaya, you chose to respond to the political criticisms directed at you by hiding behind our police and gendarmerie instead of answering on your own behalf.

However, the police are ours, and the gendarmerie is ours.

Our heroic security forces are not anyone's political shadow; they are the honorable children of this nation.

Today, our country has turned into a geography where not only local criminal structures but also international criminal networks operate. Organized crime groups are targeting children as young as 15-16. Substance use in our country has spread to neighborhoods and villages, and has dropped to the age of 12.

In Europe, the rate of young substance users has decreased by an average of 7% over the last five years.

In Turkey, the rate of addiction-based crime has increased by 42% in the same period.

These data are based on reports from;

The United Nations,

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA),

Interpol, and Europol.

I ask: Do these institutions belong to FETÖ? Do they belong to METÖ? You cannot escape responsibility with "FETÖ rhetoric" in the face of international realities.

Today, Turkey has become the center of international migration with a return rate far below the world average; it has become integrated with drug and human trafficking, money laundering, and virtual betting networks.

While the Police Department is under a heavy burden, you are busy tracking opposition police officers on social media.

Among all professional groups, our police and gendarmerie have the highest suicide rate.

The personnel are lonely, tired, and exhausted.

Did you remember the police and gendarmerie only today?

In the past, "secret imam" meetings regarding you and investigations related to your Şırnak period were reflected in the public eye.

We never used these as political material. Because we do not make accusations without evidence.

State seriousness requires this.

But today, you are violating state decorum by hiding behind institutions.

If you have the guts, speak for yourself!

The truth cannot be covered up with tweets.

An Interior Minister speaks with action, not with social media polemics.

There are no results in the fight against organized crime.

There is no policy in migration management.

As for border security, it is non-existent.

There is no strategy for the drug and youth crisis.

There is no will to protect the rights of our police.

That office is a trust of the nation!

You are working not to serve the nation, but to protect your position. Do what is necessary and leave that post immediately!
