CHP's Murat Emir shares businessman Murat Gülibrahimoğlu's protocol with AKP municipality: Mosque and Quran course donation
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir shared the document of a protocol signed between businessman Murat Gülibrahimoğlu—who is alleged in the IMM indictment to have been enriched by Ekrem İmamoğlu—and the then-AKP-run municipality, stating that a businessman labeled as bankrupt could not have made such a massive donation to the municipality.
Emir stated, "At the time they claimed Gülibrahimoğlu was 'bankrupt,' he had enough assets to make such a large investment in Eyüpsultan Municipality. The entire purpose of the indictment is to smear Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu from somewhere, but all of their claims are contradictory and inconsistent with each other."
Murat Emir made a statement on his social media account regarding the allegations in the IMM indictment.
Sharing the document of the protocol signed between Murat Gülibrahimoğlu and the then-AKP-run Eyüpsultan Municipality, Emir noted the following:
"One of the strongest pillars of the IMM indictment is the claim that the bankrupt, finished businessman Murat Gülibrahimoğlu was enriched by Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu through irregular transactions in 2021.
However, in 2020, the same Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, whom they call 'bankrupt,' made a donation to Eyüpsultan Municipality to build a mosque, a library, and a Quran course. It is impossible for a businessman they call bankrupt to make such a massive donation in 2020.
They signed a contract with the AKP mayor of the time, and according to this contract, Murat Gülibrahimoğlu would provide the land without receiving a single penny in return and would build a mosque, library, staff quarters, and a Quran course on the land.
And that mosque was to be named after Murat Gülibrahimoğlu's grandmother, Hadiye Aksoy. Now, consider this person, Murat Gülibrahimoğlu. After the 2010s, he received work from AKP municipalities and ministries and became wealthy; he even had a partnership with an AKP Provincial Chairman for a while, and allegedly went bankrupt, but at the time they said he was 'bankrupt,' he still had enough assets to make such a large investment in Eyüpsultan Municipality.
No matter how you look at it, it is an illogical, inconsistent, and contradictory indictment. The entire purpose of the indictment is to smear Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu from somewhere, but all of their claims are contradictory and inconsistent with each other."

The IMM indictment includes a claim that Murat Gülibrahimoğlu went bankrupt and was enriched by Ekrem İmamoğlu after 2021.
Yet, this person, who was supposedly bankrupt, donated thousands to the AKP-run Eyüpsultan Municipality in 2020 in the name of his grandmother, Hadiye Ersoy… pic.twitter.com/JFFWzCKANq
