CHP's Özcan reacts to 'Nightlife is thriving in Damascus' report: 'You fed them, gave them drink, and clothed them'

The minimum wage rate, which millions of citizens were waiting for, was announced by Minister Işıkhan as 22,104 TL.

AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan also commented on the announced figure immediately after the statement, wishing it to be 'beneficial'.

Following the announcement of the minimum wage amount during the live broadcast, while national channels turned their program content to the minimum wage debate, CNN Türk's report aired with the banner 'Nightlife is thriving in Damascus' drew the reaction of CHP's Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan.

After the announcement of the minimum wage figure, which disappointed millions, while almost everyone tried to show their reaction in some way, national channels also made evaluations on the figure in question.

While the meaning of the figure for the citizens was being discussed with expert guests, some channels preferred to report on Syria, which is among the country's other agenda items.

CNN Türk, one of these channels, reported on the nightlife in Damascus to its viewers, and CHP's Özcan reacted harshly to this choice.

"At this moment, retirees and minimum wage earners in Turkey are crying tears of blood, and the agenda of the pro-government CNN Türk is the nightlife in Damascus.

“They say nightlife is thriving in Damascus,” while in Turkey, tears are flowing like a flood. For years, you fed these Syrians with the money of the Turkish people, gave them drink, clothed them, and put money in their pockets. It is because of these things you did that you didn't let the public have a single penny.

Take your Syrians and go back to Syria. Get off the backs of the Turkish people already!!!

This time, neither God will forgive you, nor will the Nation."
