CHP's Öztunç reacts to Güler: 'You entered as a soldier of Atatürk, you left as a soldier of Erdoğan'

CHP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Ali Öztunç, in his speech at the TBMM, reacted to Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler with the words, "Mr. Minister, you entered the Turkish Armed Forces as a soldier of Mustafa Kemal, but I am sorry to say, you have left as a soldier of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

Criticizing Güler in harsh language, Öztunç said:

“There is one person who has written history on Anatolian soil in the last 100 years, and that is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. I must give credit where it is due, the AK Party members have also written history, but let me tell you what kind of history they wrote. They brought millions of refugees to Anatolia, they wrote that history. You wrote history in inflation. You said 'nas' (religious decree), you wrote history in interest rates.

You wrote history in unqualified appointments, in waste, in ostentation.

You wrote history in corruption, in theft. You wrote history in creating crony contractors and letting those crony contractors siphon off the nation's wealth.

You wrote history in exchange rates. You wrote history in making farmers, workers, civil servants, and retirees miserable.

You wrote history in handing over state institutions to sects and religious communities. You wrote history in growing FETÖ. You wrote history in femicides, in imprisoning journalists. You wrote history in the killing of newborns. You wrote history in protecting that gang.

"YOU WERE SUPPOSEDLY AGAINST ISRAEL"

You made saying 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' in the TSK, which was founded by Mustafa Kemal, a crime; you wrote history in this. For years you said, 'We are fighting against Zionism.' You were supposedly against Israel. But you did the biggest business in trade with Israel, you wrote history. Israel reached the gates of Damascus. You wrote history in Israel's expansion of its territory.

HE REMINDED OF THE ERDOĞAN SLOGANS CHANTED AT THE POLICE ACADEMY

Mr. Minister, since when did saying 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' become a crime? Have you ever said 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' during your many years of military service? If you did, were you practicing 'taqiya' (dissimulation)?

Mr. Minister, you entered the TSK as a soldier of Mustafa Kemal, but I am sorry to say, you have left as a soldier of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

If you call it insubordination, if you call it lack of discipline, Mr. Minister, why did you not dismiss the general involved in human smuggling for these offenses, but instead retired him?

Mr. Minister, was there no lack of discipline when slogans for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were being chanted at the Police Academy?
