CHP Party Assembly meets: MYK and Shadow Cabinet to be restructured

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Party Assembly (PM) is meeting today under the chairmanship of Özgür Özel to form the party's new Central Executive Board (MYK) and discuss the strategy for the future.

PRESIDENTIAL WORKING OFFICE TO BE ESTABLISHED

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, CHP officials stated that the process of establishing Presidential Working Offices has begun, noting, "Nothing is finalized yet, but the Shadow Cabinet will change shape and be strengthened with representatives from all segments of society. There will be experts working under it. There will be a communications spokesperson for the Presidential Cabinet, separate from our party spokesperson. The MYK will remain more administrative."

NEW MYK AND SHADOW CABINET TO BE RESTRUCTURED

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will hold his first meeting today at the headquarters with the new Party Assembly members elected at the 21st Extraordinary Congress. During the meeting, both the new MYK will be determined and the party's policies for the upcoming period will be discussed. Party officials emphasize that the Shadow Cabinet will take on a new structure and the MYK will become "more administrative."

‘WE WILL HAVE EXPERTS’

Reminding that they have called for early elections from the government, the officials said, "Our chairman had announced that we would open Presidential Working Offices for the election campaign. We will convert our Party School on Çevre Street in Ankara into a Presidential Working Office. A portion of the Shadow Cabinet will likely spend more time there from now on. Of course, there will be friends from the previous term in our cabinet. But there will also be people from outside. We will strengthen our cabinet with people from all walks of life. From health to education, from the judiciary to working life, according to the field of each ministry; we will have experts working under the Cabinet in that field."

‘THERE WILL ALSO BE A CABINET SPOKESPERSON’

Party officials stated that the election campaign of CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu will also be conducted from these Presidential Offices, adding, "There will also be a spokesperson responsible for the communication of the Presidential Cabinet. This will be a separate name from our party spokesperson. Our chairman will also manage the campaign and work to be carried out in the offices. Our campaign offices will become more widespread over time."

The officials also emphasized that all these efforts are currently in the planning stage, stating, "We will evaluate all of this at our PM meeting. Following this, our chairman will share the details with the public."
