CHP reacts sharply to 'stay of execution' decision in Bayrampaşa: As soon as possible

Following the arrest and suspension of CHP Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, an administrative court issued a "stay of execution" decision upon an objection filed by the AKP regarding the acting mayoral election, which was won by the CHP's İbrahim Kahraman via a draw.

In the lawsuit filed regarding the Bayrampaşa acting mayoral elections, the Istanbul 8th Administrative Court issued a stay of execution.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek reacted to the decision on his social media account and stated the following:

"We will file an objection against this political cancellation decision as soon as possible.

We do not accept this cancellation decision, which was issued by citing a justification not found in the law.

Four rounds of voting were held in the acting mayoral elections on September 21,

It was broadcast live,

A draw was held.

All of Turkey watched it.

There is no method or path they have not resorted to in order to take back the municipalities they lost.

In Bayrampaşa, the WILL OF THE NATION is once again being ignored.

Our Mayor Hasan Mutlu, who was unlawfully arrested, won the election in Bayrampaşa with a margin of over 5 percent, with 7,986 votes.

Our nation has decided that the Republican People's Party should govern Bayrampaşa.

We will defend democracy, the will of the people, and the rule of law to the end!"
