CHP reacts sharply to the Center for Combating Disinformation: 'A confession of squalor, exhaustion, and helplessness'

Bulut alleged that information obtained from judicial investigation files is being served to pro-government media outlets through the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), which is affiliated with the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.

Making a written statement on his X account, Bulut noted the following:

"The Center for Combating Disinformation has made Goebbels look like an amateur! Turkey has never experienced such a dirty period, where squalor prevails, the rule of law is trampled upon, and the presumption of innocence is disregarded.

Secret investigation files in the hands of the judiciary, which should be independent and impartial, are being served to the Palace, from there to the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) affiliated with the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, and subsequently to the pro-government media.

"THE TEXT WAS SENT SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE OPERATION"

The concert investigation targeting our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality today has been the most concrete example of this. The text prepared under the title 'Concert Investigation Targeting Ankara Metropolitan Municipality with Q&A. Scandalous Allegations at ABB: 759 Million in Concert Spending, 154 Million in Public Loss' was sent to the pro-government press simultaneously with the operation. These texts were embellished with phrases like 'according to the findings of judicial authorities,' filled with summaries of reports taken from prosecutor's files, and turned into 'ready-to-use news' for journalists to share without needing a single line of commentary. While some shared it as is on social media, others carried it to their headlines.

This picture is a recurring method not only for ABB but for all operations targeting CHP-run municipalities, especially in Istanbul.

The 'information notes' sent by the DMM to journalists are being reported word for word. Secret judicial investigation documents are being transferred to the pro-government media through a center affiliated with the executive branch, in violation of the Constitution.

This is an open black propaganda mechanism that disregards not only judicial independence but also press freedom.

The point reached today is clear: The judiciary has been stripped of its status as an independent institution and turned into the Palace's backyard.
