CHP reacts to investigation involving Sadettin Saran: 'Do not trivialize the matter'
CHP's Burhanettin Bulut and Ali Mahir Başarır have reacted to the detention of Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran at his presidential office.
CHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Media and Public Relations and Adana MP Burhanettin Bulut, along with CHP Group Deputy Chairman and Mersin MP Ali Mahir Başarır, have reacted to the manner in which Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran was detained.
Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran was detained by gendarmerie teams who arrived at the Fenerbahçe Stadium after drug findings were detected in a hair test as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
CHP's Burhanettin Bulut and Ali Mahir Başarır expressed their reactions to the way Saran was detained on social media.
Bulut stated the following:
“The President of Fenerbahçe Club would have gone if he had been summoned to testify; in fact, despite being abroad, he returned to the country in a hurry to give his statement. Despite this, it is unacceptable for the president of a century-old institution like Fenerbahçe, which has millions of fans, to be detained from his presidential office. What kind of mental lapse is this? Who is being intimidated, and for what?”
"You reveal the barons!”
Başarır used the following expressions:
“We are facing a sense of justice that has shrunk to the point of sending the gendarmerie to the door of a 118-year-old community! Why is the president of a club with millions of fans, who gave his statement of his own volition, subjected to such treatment? Do not trivialize the matter! You reveal the barons!”
