CHP responds to claims that Özgür Özel 'used Aziz İhsan Aktaş's official vehicle': There is no such official vehicle

Arzu Erdem, a 26th and 27th term Member of Parliament for the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), claimed during a television program she attended that a vehicle was owned by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is mentioned in a corruption investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and some district municipalities.

Erdem alleged that the specially designed armored vehicle with the license plate 34 AKT 500, which CHP Chairman Özgür Özel used during his trip to Diyarbakır, belonged to the criminal organization leader Aziz İhsan Aktaş. 

DENIAL FROM CHP

A statement came from the CHP regarding these allegations. The statement included the following:

It had been claimed in some media outlets that Özgür Özel used a vehicle belonging to Aziz İhsan Aktaş as an official vehicle. Denying the allegations in question, Yücel used the following expressions:

"The official vehicles used by our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, are registered to our Headquarters, and their license plates are official plates allocated by the Security Directorate. Our Chairman does not have an official vehicle as alleged.

The fact that such a slander was put forward on the day our Chairman exposed the prosecutor-lawyer gang in the IMM investigation is nothing but the panic of guilt.

We will file a criminal complaint against the hitman who has been slandering our party for months, whose every claim has been proven false, who calls himself a journalist, and who brought this unrealistic claim to the agenda."
