A statement was issued from the social media account of the CHP Communication, Press and Media Channel regarding the allegations that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel did not attend the broadcast on NOW TV without notice.
The following was noted in the statement:
"The lie that our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel did not attend the planned live broadcast on NOW TV without notice has been put forward by a madman who was forced to resign from his post by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on grounds of FETÖ affiliation and/or corruption, who was accused by his own party's senior executives of selling Ankara off parcel by parcel, and who has become a source of shame even for his own party. Throughout that day, our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel closely followed the judicial proceedings concerning our Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and cancelled all his programs upon the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Legal applications will be made regarding the social media post aimed at discrediting our party and NOW News
In this context, NOW TV was informed, and the program was postponed to a later date upon the situation being met with understanding.
Our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel went to the Beşiktaş Municipality early in the morning on the day the program was to take place to hold meetings, and with the start of the workday, he visited the floors one by one to pay morale-boosting visits to the municipal employees."
