CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer has submitted a legislative proposal to the Speaker of the Parliament to increase the retiree holiday bonus to the level of the minimum wage.
During a press conference held at the Parliament, Gürer stated that the retiree holiday bonus amount determined in 2018 corresponded to 62 percent of the minimum wage at that time, while the bonus, which was increased to 3 thousand liras with the latest regulation, corresponds to 13.57 percent of the current minimum wage.
Displaying the baklava, candy, and chocolate he brought with him, Gürer stated that in 2018, when the holiday bonus was set at 1000 TL, the price of a kilogram of walnut baklava was 60 TL, a kilogram of holiday candy was 10 TL, and a kilogram of madlen chocolate was 98 TL.
CHP Niğde Deputy Gürer noted that they have submitted the legislative proposal aimed at increasing the retiree holiday bonus to the minimum wage level to the Speaker of the Parliament.
