CHP takes action regarding the Meat and Milk Board

CHP Deputy Chairman Erhan Adem, in a written statement, claimed that while the regulation requires minced meat obtained from chilled meat to be prepared within 6 days of slaughter, the institution entered into contracts with certain firms for imported meat with an 8-day condition.

Claiming that the executives of the Meat and Milk Board ignored the hygiene regulation and disregarded public health, Adem stated, "This situation has reinforced the allegations of lack of oversight regarding imported meat, which have previously come to the public's attention."

Adem announced that, in this regard, they have filed a criminal complaint against the officials of the Meat and Milk Board and the executives of the companies involved in the tender for "misconduct in office," "bribery," and "rigging a tender," and noted the following:

"The unlawful practices carried out by the Meat and Milk Board officials pose a serious threat to the health of our public. These clear instances of negligence and allegations of corruption regarding food safety must be investigated immediately, and necessary judicial and administrative proceedings must be initiated against all individuals and institutions involved in any irregularities."
