CHP's Yavuzyılmaz reveals 14 million lira 'Holiday Chocolate' document: Notes 'AKP's holiday heist'
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has reacted to the expenditures made by the Eti Maden General Directorate regarding the purchase of holiday chocolates.
In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz stated that Turkey is struggling with an economic crisis and expressed that the expenditure in question, made with public resources, is unacceptable.
Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated that they have determined that Eti Maden spent 14 million 306 thousand lira for the purchase of holiday chocolates, arguing that the purchase of thousands of boxes of chocolate has led to public loss.
“CONTRARY TO THE AUSTERITY CIRCULAR”
Reminding of the Presidential Austerity Measures Circular dated May 17, 2024, Yavuzyılmaz claimed that this expenditure is contrary to the circular. Yavuzyılmaz alleged that the purchase in question shows that the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Eti Maden management have not taken the austerity calls into account.
“TWICE THE NUMBER OF PERSONNEL”
Pointing out that the 8 thousand 180 boxes of chocolate purchased are approximately twice the number of personnel at the institution, Yavuzyılmaz expressed that this also creates a separate question mark.
“THIS IS CALLED A HOLIDAY HEIST”
Describing the expenditure in question as a “holiday heist,” Yavuzyılmaz stated that he has shared the invoices regarding the matter with the public.
