CHP's Yavuzyılmaz: The AKP has now set its sights on free highways in Bursa

In a statement made on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz said the following:

"Attention to all residents of Bursa and those who travel through Bursa! The AKP has now set its sights on the free highways in Bursa! We have identified, with documentation, that a 'privatization clause' was added to the tenders held in 2026 regarding the Bursa Ring Road, which is currently operated by the public for free in the 14th Highways Region.

Based on the price tariffs of Build-Operate-Transfer model highways, once privatized, the vehicle passage fee on the Bursa Ring Road between the Gemlik Junction and the İnegöl Junction will be 113 TL! This privatization plan is a robbery plan!

The length of the road in question, including connecting roads, is a total of 34 km. The number of vehicle passages on the Bursa Ring Road in 2025 was 11 million 417 thousand.

If the privatization of the Bursa Ring Road takes place as of 2026, when the company operates these highways using the average vehicle passage price per kilometer of highways built with the Build-Operate-Transfer model, the toll revenue the company will collect from citizens in one year will be at least 958 million 754 thousand Lira! The amount that will enter the companies' coffers over the 25-year privatization process is 24 billion Lira! This is called robbery! Making citizens pay for the cost of roads through taxes first, and then privatizing these roads to make them toll-based for citizens, is fraud!"
