Striking claim from CHP's Yavuzyılmaz regarding LGS results: 'Impossible without cheating'
As the Ministry of National Education (MEB) announced the LGS exam results, a record number of students achieved a perfect score this year. Despite the exam being difficult, the fact that the number of students achieving a perfect score increased by one hundred percent compared to the previous year drew attention. A striking claim regarding these figures came from CHP's Yavuzyılmaz.
The 2025 High School Transition System (LGS) exam results were announced by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). According to the results, a first in LGS history occurred this year, with the number of students achieving a perfect score reaching 719. This figure surpassed the previous record of 565 students set in 2023, which had been the highest number of top-scoring students seen to date.
Following the announcement of the results, debates regarding the security of the exam and the quality of its assessment and evaluation have reignited in the public eye.
In a statement made by the ÖNDER Association of Imam Hatip Graduates, it was noted that according to the exam results, 63 of the 719 students who achieved a perfect score of 500 across Turkey were students at imam hatip middle schools.
STRIKING CLAIM FROM CHP'S YAVUZYILMAZ
Following the release of the LGS exam results, a series of debates ensued. While it was noted that the exam was much more difficult than in previous years, the increase in the number of people achieving a perfect score drew attention.
A criticism regarding this increase in perfect scores also came from Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Zonguldak.
In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz claimed that such a high number of perfect scores could not be achieved without cheating and used the following expressions:
"For 719 students to simultaneously finish first in the High School Transition Exam (LGS) held by the MEB is impossible for an exam conducted without cheating.
Period."
