CHP's Yavuzyılmaz reacts: 'Privatizing bridges is treason' – Reveals bridge earnings
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has released the 2025 revenue and expenditure data for the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Stating that the total net profit of the two bridges is 7.2 billion TL, Yavuzyılmaz reacted sharply to the privatization plan.
Yavuzyılmaz shared the 2025 financial data regarding the Bosphorus bridges, which he claims the AKP plans to privatize for 25 years, with the public.
In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz used the following expressions:
"A massive betrayal plan from the AKP! We have determined the massive 2025 profit of the Bosphorus bridges that the AKP plans to privatize for 25 years.
2025 revenue and expenditure data for the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge: For the 15 July Martyrs Bridge; revenue: 3 billion 461 million TL. Expenditure: 83 million TL. Annual net profit: 3 billion 378 million TL. 2025 profit margin: 97.6 percent.
For the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge; revenue: 4 billion 056 million TL, expenditure: 161 million TL, annual net profit: 3 billion 895 million TL. 2025 profit margin: 96 percent. In this case, the total net profit of the two Bosphorus bridges for 2025 is: 7 billion 273 million TL. Average 2025 profit margin: 96.7 percent!
Privatizing these bridges, which the public operates with such high profit, is treason! The privatization plan for these bridges, the cost of which has been paid for with citizens' taxes, must be cancelled immediately."
